UPPER CERVICAL CARE

The Zimmerman Family Chiropractic Way

At Zimmerman Family Chiropractic, Dr. Zimmerman uses an Upper Cervical Chiropractic approach while monitoring the rest of the spine. He primarily focuses on the relationship of the upper two bones in the neck (the cervical spine), and the brainstem - the most critical portion of the nervous system.

The nervous system is responsible for all communication in the human body. The brainstem serves as the central intersection between the brain and the rest of the body's nerves. That means every time the brain sends messages to a part of the body, it first goes through the brainstem.

The brainstem extends out of the base of the skull, into the top two cervical bones - the Atlas and the Axis - the most movable vertebrae in the body. This movement allows the head a wide range of motion. However, that movement also means they can easily misalign and endanger communication to and from the brainstem. If messages cannot be sent from the nervous system, the result may be site specific or pain or even sickness.

That is where Zimmerman Family Chiropractic comes in. Dr. Zimmerman is committed to helping his patients find better health and a better functioning nervous system one visit at a time.

The Upper Cervical Chiropractic Difference

Upper Cervical misalignments can be caused from auto accidents, sports injuries, physical or emotional stress, poor posture, and birth trauma. Whatever the cause, Upper Cervical Chiropractic focuses on restoring the lines of communication between the brain and the body. Plus, an Upper Cervical correction is gentle and precise. No snapping, jerking, or twisting of the neck.
